The central skill you'll practice in this class is closely analyzing our nonfiction readings about inequality. While you'll also write a lot, the purpose of your writing is to show how much progress you're making in decoding our authors' potential or unspoken meanings. Sometimes, in real life as on social media, the thing you would really like to say is precisely the thing people don't want to hear you say. (How, then, do you let them infer it while you yourself get away with it?)
